Battery replacement

For Flexlock Invisible, battery lifetime under optimum conditions is estimated at four years (or 40,000 opening actions) for EM and three years (or 30,000 opening actions) for Mifare. For Flexlock Visible, the expected lifetime is three years (or 30,000 opening actions). (Short distances between the devices or activated LED can reduce battery lifetime to some extent.)

It is recommended that batteries be replaced in line with a planned time schedule, e.g. every three years. As a rule, it is best not to wait until you hear a battery warning. It is a good idea to write down the date when the batteries need replacing.

The batteries should be recycled in accordance with national legislation and regulations governing the separation of electronic items from other recyclable material. For instance, used batteries should be taken to specially designated recycling centres or returned to the place of purchase.

When the battery level is low, a warning signal is emitted. After you hear the warning signal for the first time, it will be repeated every six hours and will continue until the battery is found to be empty, at which point the lock will automatically open. For battery life and software to work according to specification requires a Flexlock battery which is provided by Swedstyle or your Flexlock dealer.
